How we source listings
Seek Solar lists any solar installer operating in Malaysia. Here's exactly where the data on each listing comes from, and how a listing gets marked SEDA-verified.
The original 435: SEDA's public registry
The directory launched with 435 installers sourced from SEDA Malaysia's (Sustainable Energy Development Authority) public list of registered PV service providers. Company name, registration status, and category served came directly from that registry.
Enrichment: Google, for ratings and photos only
Those 435 base records were then cross-referenced with Google Maps and Google Business listings — but only to add ratings, review counts, and photos where a confident match could be made between the SEDA registry entry and a Google listing. Google data was never used to decide whether an installer is SEDA-registered; that status comes solely from the official registry. Roughly 320 of the 435 have a confident Google match with real ratings; the rest are newer or harder-to-match listings and appear without reviews rather than with guessed ones.
Open self-listing: any installer can add themselves
Seek Solar is not limited to the original 435. Any solar installer operating in Malaysia — registered with SEDA or not yet — can submit their own listing throughList Your Business. A self-submitted listing is published with a "Not yet SEDA-verified" state until it has been cross-checked against the registry, rather than being withheld or rejected for lacking that check.
No paid placement, no pay-to-rank
No listing on Seek Solar is paid placement, and no listing is ranked or ordered by advertising spend. The SEDA-verified badge reflects only whether a registry cross-check has been done — it is earned by appearing on the official public registry, not purchased.
Claiming an existing listing
If your company is one of the original 435 SEDA-sourced entries, you canclaim your listing to correct details, add photos, and start receiving quote requests directly.
