How we handle your data
This policy explains what Seek Solar collects, why, how it's shared, and the rights you have under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
What we collect
When you use a form on Seek Solar, we collect only what that form asks for:
- Quote requests — your name, phone number, email, property address and state, property type, average monthly TNB bill (optional), preferred contact method, and any notes you add about your project.
- Business listing submissions — company/legal name, contact person, phone, email, website, states and categories served, SEDA registration number (optional), and a short company description.
- Claim requests — your name, role at the company, phone, email, and details you provide to help us verify your connection to an existing listing.
We never collect or store Malaysian IC/MyKad numbers. No form on this site asks for one, and none is retained anywhere in our data.
Why we collect it
Quote request details are collected to route your enquiry to the installer(s) you're requesting a quote from, so they can contact you about your project. Listing and claim submission details are collected to publish or update a company's entry in the directory and to verify a claim before we hand over control of a listing.
How it's shared
Quote request details are shared only with the installer(s) that specific request is addressed to. Listing details you submit are published on the public listing page you create or claim. We do not sell personal data to third parties, and we do not share your data with installers you have not requested a quote from.
Retention
Quote request details are kept only as long as needed to complete the introduction between you and the installer(s) involved, and to handle any follow-up you raise with us. Listing data is kept for as long as the listing remains active on the directory, or until you ask us to remove it.
Your rights under the PDPA
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you may:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy of it (access)
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or outdated data (correction)
- Withdraw consent for us to process your data, including removing a submitted quote request or listing (withdrawal of consent)

No sale of data
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data collected through this site to any third party for their own marketing purposes.
