About RPG Green Technology

RPG Green Technology is a 100% Bumiputera-owned company based in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, and part of RPG Group (its site also calls it RPG Solar & RWH). It's registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga, SEDA Malaysia, CIDB, the Ministry of Finance and Tenaga Nasional. Unlike installers that sell plain on-grid systems, it says every package it sells pairs solar with battery storage as standard — a hybrid, Solar ATAP-focused approach it adopted following the discontinuation of the NEM programme.

RPG Group's history traces back to 2016 as a residential construction contractor in Langkawi, expanding to the Klang Valley in 2018, becoming a registered SEDA contractor in 2020, and setting up its Seri Kembangan headquarters in 2023. It says it has completed more than 500 installations, installed over 6,000 kWp of solar and more than 3,200 kWh of battery storage capacity, for a claimed 23.4 GWh of total energy savings. In 2026 it was named Renewable Energy (Off-Grid Power) runner-up at the National Energy Awards for a clean-water pump house on Pulau Teluk Renjuna, Tumpat, Kelantan — a CSR project run with NGO Yayasan Infaq Infra Malaysia. Its news page describes this project's solar system inconsistently: a 3 kW system in one write-up and a 31 kWp system in the award description, both said to pair with a 5 kWh battery.

For financing, it offers outright purchase, 0% credit-card instalments over up to 60 months, personal loans, rent-to-own, or a zero-CAPEX arrangement where RPG owns the system and the customer pays a fixed monthly rate. It says it extends inverter and battery warranties up to 10 years, alongside a stated 25-year performance warranty and a 30-year panel warranty for its 630W panels. Its news updates say its hybrid inverters come from Deye and SolaX, and its batteries from LV TOPSUN. It also installs rainwater harvesting (SPAH) systems alongside solar.

How a RPG Green Technology project runs

1. Free site consultation: Engineers review your bills and assess your roof; typically Day 1-2, no cost.
2. Custom design and proposal: A sized system with projected savings, payback period and 25-year outlook; typically Day 3-7.
3. Professional installation: 1-2 days once scheduled.
4. System live for self-consumption (SELCO): Starts generating and saving immediately on completion, without waiting for grid-export approval.
5. ATAP grid export approval and SuriaHome rebate: Handles the grid-export application; approval letters may still reference 'NEM'. Typically 4-8 weeks; the RM3,000 SuriaHome rebate is credited by TNB once approved.

Before you get a quote from RPG Green Technology

• Ask which inverter brand (Deye or SolaX) and which battery brand (LV TOPSUN) your quote uses — no panel brand is named on its site.
• Get the panel, inverter and battery warranty terms in writing; its site cites a 30-year panel warranty, a 25-year performance warranty and up to 10-year extended inverter/battery cover, which can be confusing to reconcile.
• If you're offered the zero-CAPEX rent-to-own or hosting arrangement, ask for the contract length and when (or whether) you take ownership of the system.
• Your official approval letter may still say 'NEM' even though the application is processed under Solar ATAP — RPG's own site confirms this is normal, so don't be alarmed by the older terminology.
