About United Solar Energy Malaysia

United Solar Energy Malaysia (USEM) is based in Kuala Lumpur and describes itself as a joint venture between Australia-based United Solar Group (USG) and Malaysia's Lembah Setia Sdn Bhd (LSSB), formed to focus on the commercial solar segment in Malaysia. It offers both business ('MySunPlan') and residential ('HomeSolar®') solar packages, and says it wants to help drive the government's target of 20% renewable energy by 2025.

Its partner LSSB says it has been a vendor to Tenaga Nasional Berhad since 1993, working in electrical manufacturing, precision parts machining and EPCC of electrical and electronics, and holds an Energy Commission electrical contractor licence and a SEDA Solar PV Service Provider licence. Its other partner, United Solar Group, says it was established in 2009 in Victoria, Australia, and has built a pipeline of 16GW of projects worldwide. USEM's own website does not publish a completed-projects count, capacity figure, or named project list for Malaysia — its portfolio page returned no listed projects in this review.

USEM's HomeSolar package advertises up to 85% bill savings, a 25-year comprehensive warranty and two years of free maintenance; MySunPlan for businesses advertises no upfront cost, up to 40% bill savings, and financing via its partners. These are the company's own claims rather than independently verified figures, and its website does not name the specific solar panel or inverter brands it installs.
