BDB Energy Sdn. Bhd. (BESB), established on 5 July 2023, is an Alor Setar-based solar company aiming to promote renewable energy solutions in Kedah state and beyond. It offers rooftop solar installations for residential, commercial and industrial customers, as well as Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects. It describes itself as a newly formed entity focused on sustainability and innovation.

The standard residential package described on its website includes design and supply, installation and testing of the PV system, a standard mounting structure, NEM quota and meter applications to SEDA and TNB, solar equipment insurance, and an equipment warranty with a workmanship guarantee, though no specific warranty years are stated. It offers two financing options: outright purchase in cash, or bank financing through partnerships with unnamed banks.

BDB Energy's FAQ explains Net Energy Metering (NEM) as the applicable incentive scheme, without mentioning Solar ATAP, which replaced NEM 3.0 on 1 January 2026. It says solar can cut a household's TNB bill by up to 90% over the system's 25-year lifespan. As a company established in July 2023, its website doesn't name any completed projects or past clients.

Before you get a quote from BDB Energy

• Ask whether they handle Solar ATAP applications. Their FAQ still describes Net Energy Metering (NEM) as the current incentive scheme, which Solar ATAP replaced on 1 January 2026.
• It was only established in July 2023 — ask for examples of completed projects and how many systems it has installed so far.
• Ask for the specific terms behind its "equipment warranty and workmanship quality guarantee", since no years or coverage details are published.
• If you need financing, ask which banks it partners with for its bank-financing option, since none are named.
