About Volta Energy

Volta Energy Sdn Bhd, based in Setia Alam, Selangor, and incorporated in 2019, focuses on integrating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems. It positions itself as an EPCC (engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning) provider covering residential, commercial and industrial, and off-grid solar projects, and distributes and trades PV modules, inverters and BESS equipment.

Volta Energy offers two ownership models: an SPPA option with zero upfront cost, where an investor owns the system until the contract term ends and the client buys the resulting solar energy at a lower tariff than TNB's, with free monitoring and maintenance throughout the term; and outright purchase, where the client pays upfront, owns the system immediately, and gets free monitoring and maintenance for the first 2 years. It doesn't name specific panel, inverter or BESS brands on its website.

Ask for the panel and inverter models in your quote, and get the warranties in writing.

Before you get a quote from Volta Energy

• Ask which panel, inverter and BESS brands it uses, since none are named on its website.
• Ask exactly which of its two financing options — SPPA or outright purchase — includes the 'full warranty' it mentions, and for how long, since its website table doesn't make this clear.
• If considering its SPPA option, ask about the exact contract term and the tariff rate compared to TNB's, since these aren't published.
• Confirm the application is under Solar ATAP, which replaced NEM 3.0 on 1 January 2026.
