About Pekat

Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd is part of Pekat Group Berhad, a Bursa Malaysia ACE Market-listed group headquartered in Petaling Jaya. The wider group was incorporated in 1999 to distribute surge protection devices, expanded into solar photovoltaic (PV) technology in 2006, and restructured in 2020 to form separate subsidiaries including Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd and Pekat Engineering Sdn Bhd. It specialises in on-grid, off-grid and hybrid solar PV systems for the commercial and industrial sector, including large-scale solar (LSS).

The group says it has completed more than 218MWp of solar PV projects for homes, private companies, developers and government-linked organisations since entering the solar business, though it doesn't break this figure down by year or by subsidiary. It secured its first solar PV power plant project, a 1.0MWp plant in Tok Bali, Kelantan, and its news page reports newer wins including RM46.94 million of data-centre contracts, an RM23 million agreement with Dutch Lady, and an expansion of a Johor large-scale solar project to 135MWac.

Pekat Group is listed on Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market following a 2021 IPO, and the Malaysia Book of Records recognises it as the first solar PV installer in the country to receive ISO 50001:2011 energy-management certification, according to its site. Its group structure includes associates Pekat Energy (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd and MFP Solar Sdn Bhd, and it names Sungrow, LONGi and Trina Solar among its solar equipment partners, alongside Furse for lightning protection.

• The SSM number published on its site (201901011563 / 1320891-U) belongs to the listed parent, Pekat Group Berhad, not to Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd specifically — confirm which entity will sign your contract.
• Get specific warranty terms and periods in writing; its site only advertises 'superior' after-sales service and warranties without stating terms.
• With offices in Selangor, Johor Bahru and Penang, ask which branch and team will actually handle your installation.
