About Solar Skyworks

Solar Skyworks Sdn Bhd, based in Lukut, Negeri Sembilan, was founded in 2010. It initially focused on design, installation and maintenance for off-grid solar systems in the agricultural sector, alongside supplying general electronic gadgets to local consumers, before expanding into broader solar PV services. It describes itself as a registered Solar Photovoltaic System Service Provider (ISPQ).

Its projects list spans warehouse and factory installations up to 270kWp, a school off-grid system, and a series of small off-grid installations for swiftlet houses (used for bird's-nest farming) as small as 200Wp, mostly in Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak and Johor, though it doesn't name the clients or give completion dates.

On-grid systems use what Solar Skyworks calls 'market leading branded equipment,' though it doesn't name specific panel or inverter brands. It says all solar PV energy generated is sold back to TNB at 100%, under a 21-year guarantee contract, and provides an internet-connected monitoring system for residential PV output. Off-grid systems store energy in large battery banks, aimed mainly at farming areas, student green labs, and remote sites without a national grid connection.

Its website says exported solar energy is sold back to TNB under a 21-year guarantee contract, but doesn't give separate panel or inverter product warranty terms.

Ask for the panel and inverter models in your quote, and get the warranties in writing.

Before you get a quote from Solar Skyworks

• Ask which panel and inverter brands it uses, since its website only says it uses 'market leading branded equipment' without naming brands.
• Ask for recent client references beyond its projects list, which names locations and system sizes but not clients or completion dates.
• If considering an off-grid system, ask about battery bank capacity and backup duration, since these aren't detailed for most listed projects.
