About Solartech
Solartech is a Malaysian-owned clean-energy and water-solutions company established in 1980, when it introduced solar water heating to the country. It is headquartered in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, with further offices in Penang and Johor. Today it sells and installs solar water heaters, solar power systems, solar battery storage, and non-electric water treatment systems for both homeowners and businesses.
The company says it moved into solar PV in 2015, and by 2020 its SUMMER-brand solar water heaters had been installed in 535 projects nationwide, rising to 1,000 by 2023. It has been ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified since 2009 and 2023 respectively. Its site lists named residential solar installations including 9.9kWp in Ara Damansara, 12.1kWp in Bandar Tropicana Aman, 12.1kWp in Eco Santuari, 11kWp in Taman Sri Buloh, and 15.4kWp in UEP Subang Jaya.
Solartech's site describes Solar ATAP, a SuRIA Home rebate of RM600 per kWac installed (up to RM3,000 per household), NEM Rakyat for homeowners, and NEM NOVA for businesses. Customer reviews on its site mention installations completed within days and after-sales callouts for older systems, including one described as lasting 20 years before being replaced. Its site names Hoymiles as an inverter and battery-storage brand but does not list specific solar panel brands.

Before you get a quote from Solartech
- Ask for solar panel brand names in writing — its site names Hoymiles for inverters and batteries but doesn't list a panel brand.
- Get the specific warranty document for your system, including panel, inverter and battery terms, rather than relying on the general 10-15 year lifespan claim on its site.
- With offices in Petaling Jaya, Penang and Johor, confirm which branch and team will handle your installation and after-sales service.
