About SS Solar

SS Solar (Swee Seng Electrical Engineering Sdn. Bhd.) is based in Johor Bahru, with a Kuala Lumpur office, and traces back to 1985 as an electrical engineering practice. Over the following decades it grew from residential wiring into commercial and industrial electrical engineering (distribution, protection and controls) before moving into solar in 2019. It now designs and commissions solar PV, battery storage and electrical systems for homes and businesses in Johor and Selangor, and says it also has active installs in the Klang Valley.

The company says it has installed more than 500 residential, commercial and industrial solar projects across Johor and Selangor. Named projects on its website include 375.84 kWp at Highclass Technics Sdn Bhd, 334.8 kWp at Q&Z Cosmetics, 279 kWp at Maslee Express, 273.78 kWp at Tay Kee Frozen Food & Trading, 266 kWp at Eng Heng Marketing, and 244.4 kWp at De Luxe Circle, alongside smaller residential systems such as 19.42 kWp at Batu Pahat and 13.455 kWp at Horizon Hills in Iskandar Puteri. It has won a Golden Bull Award and was recognised in the G40 Top 40 at the G Media ICONIC Night.

SS Solar sells four residential packages priced from RM18,980 (SAVE, grid-tied, no battery) to RM35,980 (ELITE ONE, an all-in-one system with an expandable 10.24 kWh battery and solar-powered EV charging), plus MAX (fixed 16 kWh or 32 kWh battery) and ELITE SPLIT (battery-ready for later). For commercial and industrial customers it offers systems up to 1 MWac under Solar ATAP with CapEx or PPA financing, and says GITA and GITE tax incentives expire 31 December 2026. It advertises TNB bill savings of up to 90% and a 2-6 year typical payback.

Before you get a quote from SS Solar

• Ask for the exact battery capacity, warranty terms, and whether it can be expanded later, since this differs significantly between its SAVE, MAX, ELITE SPLIT and ELITE ONE packages.
• Get the manufacturer warranty documents for your specific components (panel, inverter, battery, mounting) at quotation, since terms vary — e.g. 10-year Solis vs 12-year Swatten inverter warranty.
• If going commercial with a PPA, ask about contract length, ownership at the end of the term, and exit terms.
• Confirm the 2026 GITA/GITE tax incentive deadline and Solar ATAP capacity limits still apply at the time you sign, since these are time-bound government schemes.
